SHOULD I USE A DIODE CHAIN OR A RESISTIVE HEATER?

First and foremost, you should use whichever is most easily accessible to you. Diode chains are beneficial because they are adjustable to the size of the pot. Resistive heaters are already ready to use. There is less work you have to put in.

WHAT IF I CAN'T GET THE EXACT MODEL FOR A PART?

It doesn't have to be exact. We understand that some resources aren't readily available for everyone. Just get as close to the part as possible, try different models. It's all about trial and error!
